Our story...
My husband, Bill, has owned border collies since 1970 for working his livestock. He even trialed for a short time. However, since the rodeo stock production business is nearly always weekend work the stock dog trialing lost out to making a living.
When I arrived on the scene and saw the need for replacing Bill's working dogs. so began the breeding of our border collies. In the beginning we made every mistake it seems, but with the search for information we saw improvement. We had our share of health problems in our breeding program. We've found the best way to control genetic health issues at that time was to stop the line that produced the issue. So instead of breeding around the epilepsy and hip dysplasia as well as CEA, we chose to get new lines and pray they were better.
Thank the Lord for x rays and DNA testing!! Getting better educated we found testing could be done to have better knowledge of our breeding dogs health. So we have learned to always test and it has paid off in that we're producing great hipped offspring and can now control the CEA and TNS in our lines. Our goal is to always improve whenever possible.
We continue to learn and search for better ways of breeding this wonderful breed, the border collie, and never want to burden someone with a pup that has health issues, but of course, there's no 100% guarantee with genetics. We can promise you we'll do our best to offer quality raised, healthy border collie puppies and pray the good Lord blesses them with being the perfect pup for your family.
